CURTIS is a Christian Rock/Worship band from Tri Cities, TN. The band was started in 2007 by front man Andy Curtis. CURTIS was able to make a name for themselves locally in a short period of time with a unique style of play, combining memorable melodies with driving guitar rock. Before long, the band was out and traveling, playing at churches and noted Christian events. Curtis (The Curtis Band) released their first self-titled record in 2007, which gained the band recognition in indie Christian music scenes around the south. The band was able to see tracks "Passion" and "Marks of the Cross" fall into success with radio rotation and being sung by several churches as part of their worship, all as an independent band.

After a few line up changes, the band finally found its niche with Cody Greene (lead guitar) and J.Cody Hall (bass) joining up in late 2008. It's All Because of Love was the band’s next studio project being released in June of 2009. Fresh new songs were being performed by fresh new faces on the stage as the band welcomed the completion of its line up in Blake Payne (drums) and David May (Keys/Guitar) in late 2009. The singles off the new record, "Are You Washed" and "It's All Because of Love", have found themselves making rotations on radio stations across the country. This five piece has proven itself successful as they have opened up for acts such as Brandon Heath, Aaron Shust, VOTA, and Seventh Day Slumber. Playing an estimated 150 shows 2010, the band continues to stay busy and taking a message of hope and love to people around the country. Jake Allen of christianmusic.suite101.com writes, "With songs like an electric prayer, if you enjoy heartfelt Christian worship, you'll love CURTIS."

CURTIS is all about seeing impact for the kingdom of God. As an independent band, they travel with several ministries in efforts to make people realize the love and compassion of Christ, and the salvation and restoration that can be found in him alone. Not only does the band showcase an awesome modern rock sound, they have hearts that reach people for the glory of the Lord.

Andy Curtis  //  lead vocals/guitar
Andy did not grow up with a career in music in mind. In fact, music was the last thing on his mind until he was 18 years old. Andy grew up a jock. Focused on earning a college scholarship, Andy worked hard during his youth to improve himself athletically. It wasn't until God called him away from athletics at the collegiate level did he even begin to play music. Coming from a musical family, Andy was able to teach himself guitar and begin songwriting. Within a year, he was leading worship at area churches and events. Through college, Andy gained experience leading worship on staff at a local church plant and continued to develop as an artist. In 2007, music became the profession Andy desired as he began traveling and taking his message more seriously. Andy says, "Being a worship leader is one of the most important callings anyone can have. The passion it takes, responsibility it requires, challenge it brings, and out right reliance on the Lord it beacons, makes this job the most amazing occupation in the world." Andy continues to seek opportunity to share Christ’s love and a message of hope through his music, and touring with his friends in ministry in the band CURTIS.

Blake Payne  //  drums

Blake Payne grew up in the little town of Brevard North Carolina. He, like many others, grew up in quite a musically talented family, but Blake never really had an interest in playing an instrument, especially the drums. He was pretty much a normal kid who liked to have fun and play in the dirt, but one night at a Church of God Camp Blake began to feel the Holy Spirit work in him, and right then at the age of 13 gave his heart to Jesus Christ, and he has never been the same. Blake, at the right age of 15, got his first drum set, and began playing in church, and practiced at home to improve his skills. He was very involved with his youth group, and would sometimes teach on Wednesday nights, but he always knew that there was something bigger that God had in store for him. Blake reunited with an awesome guy named Cody Greene. He had played music with him a couple of years back, and he introduced Blake to Curtis back in November of 2009. Blake has been playing and ministering with them ever since.

J. Cody Hall  //  bass/vocals

J. Cody Hall taught himself how to play guitar when he was 15 years old. He started attending Harmony Baptist Church that same year where he met Cody Greene. Greene offered Hall a position as bass player in the band at Harmony. He had never played bass before but he felt as though he could handle the challenge. With a little coaching from Greene, J.Cody quickly learned what it took to keep the groove. He played alongside Greene for 3 years, but left the band at Harmony after his senior year of high school. After leaving Harmony, J.Cody started playing bass with some of his friends from high school in an alternative/blues/rock band called The Stilts.  After a 2 year run, The Stilts split up so that its members could pursue their college careers. While in college at ETSU, J.Cody continued playing music with Stilts band mate Andy Oliphant in the rock/worship band PS96. He played bass for PS96 for one year until he and Greene crossed paths once again at a campus worship event held at ETSU. At that time Greene had started playing with CURTIS. Greene told J.Cody that CURTIS would be in need of a bass player for their upcoming summer tour. J.Cody took advantage of the opportunity and jumped on board with CURTIS in the summer of 2009. After a successful summer tour, he had become an integral part of CURTIS. J.Cody is thankful for and excited about the opportunities that he has been given to minister through the music of CURTIS. J.Cody hopes that the music of CURTIS will allow his listeners to realize that there is love and power in the name of God.

Cody Greene  //  lead guitar

Cody Greene was raised in the foothills of Northeast Tennessee. Cody didn’t necessarily grow up in church, but began going heavily in his middle school days. At the age of 12, Cody gave his heart to Christ. Greene's dad bought him his first guitar at the age of 14 and, although he was reluctant to play, he began taking lessons and was hooked in no time. Cody became heavily involved in music ministry, and at 18 felt led to go full-time into ministry. In the Fall of 2008, Greene was introduced to Andy Curtis. He soon began playing with the band CURTIS. Taking the gospel to people and sharing it through music is Greene's passion, and according to Greene, "no other job can match being on the road and sharing God's love with people along side my best friends."

David May  //  keys/guitar

David began work in music ministry when he was barely a teenager. Starting as a sound tech at his church, he continued to serve by joining the worship band. Playing new instruments as he learned them, he moved from drums all the way to guitar and eventually became a worship leader and director of the ministry. As he travels and ministers in this way, his focus remains on his passion: for the church world to use music and production with excellence to reach people and connect them with God. David says, "Though music is only one of many ways we get to worship, it's an especially powerful way for people to see and experience Jesus Christ"
